This evening my internet has been a total brat. I sat down, fresh from the shower after my evening's run, all fired up to get stuff done and, as if it knew, my internet slowed to a grinding halt. Prepping posts for the weekend (I'm off on an exciting adventure, so posts need scheduling) became a gruelling task and I wondered if I'd every get anything done.
However, it did get me thinking a little about this project. I'm nearly one week in to my challenge and so far it's been exactly that, challenging. I've found it really tough to come up with creative content. This evening I had no idea what I wanted to write, and it was really frustrating. But I think that's the point. The purpose of this exercise, blogging every day, is to get me back into a creative space, something I'd drifted away from as my mind focused more on academics and my job. By forcing myself to think creatively again, and to engage with the world in a way that fuels that creativity, I can get back there, but as with everything hard the first steps are painful.
My hope is that over the next few weeks, as I reawaken the creative part of my brain, I'll be in a place where I can really develop my content so that it becomes the best it can be. There have been so many experiences over the last year or so as well that I just haven't got around to sharing, so I'm looking forward to getting that our there as well.
Have you experienced creative challenges? How did you get around them?
