Hi.

I'm a runner and a writer trying to make sense of life through words and movement.

#shelfie: Staying Cool When It's Hot

For the last week or so London has been HOT. Properly hot. And it's not a city that's particularly good at being hot. The tube turns in to the devils armpit, buses are muggy beyond belief and not that many places have air conditioning. However much you like the heat (and I really like the heat) it can all get a bit stinky and unpleasant. Thankfully there are lots of products around to help you cool off and calm down when the mercury rises.

First up is Neal's Yard Lavender and Tea Tree Body Powder. I've only recently remembered how great body powders are. They make your skin feel all smooth and fresh, particularly in the places chafe a bit. This one smells lovely and refreshing, is a really fine powder and perfect for cooling down on a hot day when even a short walk feels a tiny bit clammy.

Next up is Caudalie's Eau De Raisin (or Grape Water). I love a cooling face spray. Yes, they seem like a bit of an extravagance, but on a hot day there's nothing better than a fine mist of cooling spray just as you're about to get really hot and bothered. I was misting myself on Oxford Street at the weekend and it made everything much more manageable. This stuff is a staple in my handbag whether I need to cool down or perk up.

Finally we come to Clarins Eau Ressourcante Rebalancing Treatment Fragrance. I am a massive fan of Clarins Treatment Fragrances, they all smell amazing and are really affordable everyday scents. Eau Ressourcante is my favourite for summer as its fresh and calming, which is perfect when it gets a bit sticky. Plus its non-photosensitising formula means that it's sun safe. Win.
