I'm sure I've said this before, but I love running by the river. I remember the first time I ventured out along the Southbank, I was terrified I'd be found out as a 'fake' amongst the 'real' runners, but as soon as I took those first tentative steps all my worries lifted, there was something about the river that made me feel at home.
The love affair hasn't ended, and that's why I was so excited when Teach First got in touch to tell me about Run the River 2015, a 5km or 10km night race along the river on 15 September 2015. An offer to run along the river, at night, when it's all lit up and pretty, where do I sign up?! (here if you're interested, plus use the code TEACH and you can get £5 off).
Teach First is an amazing charity that works in schools across the country to help tackle educational inequality and ensure that all children reach their potential. When you support Teach First you're supporting a whole range of projects that look at everything from developing leadership in schools, to supporting young people when they're making decisions about their future and encouraging innovation in education. I don't have to tell you about the difference education can make to people's lives, and Teach First is working to reduce inequality in education so that everyone can achieve.
So sign up (with a discount!) and support a great cause while running one of the prettiest city routes there is!
*Teach First know how much I love to run by the river, and how much I believe in equality in education, so they've very kindly given me a courtesy place for Run the River, and the opportunity to offer you a discount. However, all opinions about pretty runs and equality are my own.*
