Active Living with Lorna Jane and Kayla Itsines

Last week Kayla Itsines kicked my butt. Not quite literally, but definitely in real time.

To celebrate the launch of their SS15 activewear collection Lorna Jane has teamed up with Kayla to produce an exclusive online workout, and last week I got a sneaky preview led by Kayla herself!


If you've not come across Kayla Itsines she's the Aussie super trainer behind the bikini body workout. The woman's got a banging body and has inspired thousands of women to achieve amazing transformations, but the thing I like most about her is her attitude - she is all about being fit and strong and is never shy about sharing exactly how much goes in to getting there. That's something I really respect. Plus she is nice as pie, so you can't get mad at her when she makes you do a million burpees, I should know, I've been there.



This was a workout with a twist. You see we weren't in the same room as Kayla. In fact we weren't even in the same hemisphere. Kayla was in Adelaide and we were in West Hampstead, joined together by video link up across the globe! It was very cool when the link up went live and the team in Australia popped on to the screen. I'm pretty sure everyone in the room had a fan girl moment, and then we worked our asses off!



The workout was a high intensity session which saw us doing everything from star jumps to burpees to commandos with everything you can think of in between, and lots of sweat! It was the type of workout that leaves your muscles burning and puts a massive grin on your face. I loved it and it was a great compliment to my marathon training, although it did show me I have a lot of work to do when it comes to my strength...something to focus on!



What I really love about this workout was that it's totally equipment free. All you need is a mat (and if you don't have one of those you can use a towel like we did!) and a little bit of space - it's a great option if you can't get to the gym or don't have a lot of time. So, there are no excuses when it comes to getting strong and feeling awesome!
